About
This is the official Den Hollinden music site. It is not a fan site.
This is the Aussie edition of the official Den Hollinden music site.
As the DenCountry.com link explains, DenCountry.com is one of a series of aliases to DenHollinden.com that make it easier to remember how to and/or to actually visit the site. Since the content is the same official content as that found at DenHollinden.com, these sitescan also be thought of as official Den Hollinden music sites.
Other pages of this site are devoted to various aspects of recording artist Den Hollinden, his music, bio, etc. This particular page is about Den Hollinden as a music professional (recording artist, singer, songwriter and producer) and the professional music organizations he belongs to and supports. The page will be of use both to researchers (writers for music publications, etc.) who need the definitive word on the organizations of which Den Hollinden is a member, as well as to other artists looking for a concise set of links to the websites of the premiere professional organizations in the field of music.
The organizations:
As a songwriter, Den Hollinden is affiliated with the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers, ASCAP, the first and oldest performance rights organization on the planet. Some of Den's heroes, like country star Alan Jackson and Paul Dresser author of the Indiana state song are/were members. Den's publisher Denuine Publishing is also ASCAP. On the other hand, Den also has heroes (like country music singer/songwriter Tom T. Hall) and friends in high places at the other two organizations, BMI and SESAC.
Den is a member of the Recording Academy and very active in Grammy functions sponsored by the Washington DC chapter of NARAS, such as the annual Grammies on the Hill event and Grammy and Latin Grammy parties. If you've attended a Grammy-related function in the Washington DC area the past few years, you've seen and probably met Den Hollinden.
Den Hollinden is a member of the Academy of Country Music.
Den Hollinden supports the Americana Music Association, the premiere association for Americana music.
Den Hollinden is a charter member of the Roots Music Association.
Den Hollinden has been a member of the Pedal Steel Guitar Association for the past several years. It continues to be among the most unique organizations he belongs to.
Washington DC area music organizations:
As a Washington DC area songwriter, Den Hollinden is a member of the Songwriters Association of Washington. SAW is an active organization that offers many opportunities for advancing a songwriting carreer through eduction, networking and group feedback on the writer-member's music.
WAMA is to the Washington DC area's musicians what SAW is to her songwriters, and Den Hollinden is a member. Mike Schreibman, the organizations music business guru, has a long history of promoting music in the Washington DC area. His opinion alone is worth the price of membership.
A patriotic organization:
Den Hollinden is a former United States Marine who is proud to be a lifetime charter member of the Marine Corps Association, publisher of both the Marine Corps Gazette as well as Leatherneck magazine. Although not intrinsically related to music, Den's military past gives him ample fodder for his many troop support songs.
